Restore 5.1 Audio to the Timeline in VEGAS – Part 1

In Previous tutorials we’ve learned how to take a stereo event and split it into two mono events, how to add files to the timeline, and how to add unused media to the timeline. In all cases, the audio added was the default stereo audio track. In fact, the “Add missing stream for selected event” option in VEGAS also only does the default stereo track. So what happens if your clip also has a 5.1 track and that needs to be restored? That’s what we begin looking at today by restoring the proper number of tracks in addition to the proper channels added to those tracks.
